Snapchat does not let you download someone else's Snaps from inside the app. If you have a shareable Snapchat video link, you can import it like a YouTube or Instagram URL. For saved Snaps on your phone, export to your camera roll first.
Method 1: Paste the Snapchat URL (Slidekick)
With Slidekick:
- Copy the public Snapchat video URL.
- Paste it into Slidekick — same workflow as YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram.
- Trim to the exact moment in the visual editor.
- Export as MP4 or GIF, or send GIFs straight to Google Slides.
Slidekick handles URL import, screen recording, file uploads, and exports to MP4 or GIF — with Google Slides integration built in.
Method 2: Save to Memories, Export to Camera Roll, Then Trim
- Open the Snap in your Memories.
- Tap the export button and save to your camera roll.
- Use your phone's built-in editor (iOS Photos or Android Gallery) to trim the segment.
Limitations: Only works for Snaps you have saved to Memories. You must export the full video before trimming.
Method 3: Screen Record, Then Trim
- Play the Snapchat video.
- Start a screen recording on your device.
- Stop the recording after the segment you need, then trim the file — or upload it to Slidekick to trim and export.
Limitations: Notifications and UI may appear in the recording. The sender may be notified if you screen record a Snap in some cases.
If you clip Snapchat videos regularly, Slidekick lets you paste the URL, trim visually, and export as MP4 or GIF — no install.
