TikTok has a native trim tool, but it is limited to drafts and lacks precision. If you need a clip from an uploaded video, you will need a different method.
Method 1: TikTok's Native In-App Trim
- Open a draft video in TikTok.
- Use the trim tool to adjust the start and end points.
- Post or save the result.
Limitations: Only works on drafts, not on videos already uploaded by other users. Trimming is imprecise and does not support frame-level adjustment.
Method 2: Download with ssstik.io or Similar, Then Trim Locally
- Copy the TikTok video URL.
- Paste it into ssstik.io (or a similar downloader) and save the MP4 without a watermark.
- Trim the downloaded file in your local editor.
Limitations: You must download the full video before trimming. Some downloaders are slow or include ads.
Method 3: Screen Record, Then Trim
- Play the TikTok video.
- Record your screen using your device's built-in tool.
- Trim the recording to the segment you need.
Limitations: Captures UI elements and notifications unless masked. Output quality depends on your screen resolution.
Method 4: Slidekick
With Slidekick:
- Paste the TikTok video URL or upload a file.
- Trim to the exact moment in the visual editor.
- Export as MP4 or GIF.
